Description
Value added Program on "Introduction to Neuromorphic Computing".
Objectives of the Course
1.This Value Added Program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive foundation in Neuromorphic Computing, an emerging field that integrates principles of neuroscience with next- generation computational models. The program focuses on the functioning and design of Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs), enabling learners to understand how these biologically inspired systems emulate the dynamics of the human brain.
2.Participants will explore state-of-the-art neuromorphic hardware platforms such as IBM TrueNorth, Intel Loihi, and FPGAs, while gaining practical experience through hands-on sessions with tools like NEURON, SpiNNER, and BrainScale. Emphasis is placed on applying neuromorphic systems to real-world domains including robotics, computer vision, IoT, and biomedical engineering.
3.The program’s learning outcomes are thoughtfully mapped to institutional Program Outcomes (POs) and Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), ensuring academic rigor and industry relevance. It aims to foster critical thinking, interdisciplinary application, and innovation in the field of brain-inspired computing. A rigorous academic journey into the future of intelligent, energy-efficient computation.
