The School of Social Sciences and Humanities (VISH) at VIT-AP University invites applications for its Summer Internship in Social Sciences 2025 (VISH-SISS 2025). This program is designed to introduce social science students to the world of academic research, with the broader goal of nurturing future scholars and educators in the field.

If you are passionate about participatory governance, rural development, and grassroots policy implementation, VISH-SISS 2025 offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful field-based research. Interns will contribute to an ongoing study of social audits under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), focusing on how these audits function across diverse socio-political contexts in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

The project seeks to critically examine the role, process, and impact of social audits in promoting transparency, accountability, and citizen empowerment, while also identifying systemic barriers and policy-level gaps.
