Title:Workshop on 'Digital Methods for Cultural Inquiry: Tools, Theory, and Praxis'

Date:January 06-10 January 2026 (Hybrid mode).

Description:

This five-day workshop offers a structured immersion into the conceptual and practical terrains of Digital Humanities (DH) and Cultural Studies, bringing together theory, method, and application. Designed for participants with no prior technical background, the programme introduces foundational ideas while providing guided, hands-on engagement with beginner-friendly digital tools. Across the sessions, the workshop examines how digital methods open new ways of reading literature, analysing popular culture, tracing social media dynamics, and interpreting historical data. Along with tool-based exploration, participants will engage in critical discussions on how data infrastructures shape cultural production, influence interpretive practices, and mediate power within digital environments.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

1.Use introductory DH tools to formulate analytical frameworks relevant to research and industry practices.

2.Apply digital methods to examine literary texts, cultural artefacts, and social media narratives.

3.Identify biases, limitations, and methodological gaps embedded in digital datasets.

4.Develop a holistic understanding of digital cultural production and its impact on contemporary scholarship and innovation.
