About the Workshop

The School of Advanced Sciences (SAS), VIT-AP University, is pleased to organize the one-day Workshop on Design and Simulation of Solar Cells and Sensors. The program is designed to provide participants with both the theoretical understanding and practical abilities required to innovate and comprehend the realm of solar cells and sensors. Through a combination of lectures, interactive sessions, and simulation activities, attendees delve into the fundamentals of photovoltaic systems, material selection, and the most recent developments in sensor technology. The curriculum highlights the application of simulation tools to model the performance of solar cells and the functionality of sensors, allowing participants to evaluate efficiency, refine designs, and tackle real-world issues. The proposed Workshop will cover the following themes.

1.Optical and electrical modelling of semiconducting devices

2.Simulate the light absorption, scattering, and charge transport

3.Device structure, material parameters, working files, simulation output, procedures to maximize the device efficiency
